Father Hilton’s update:
How is the church renovation progressing? The Business Manager, Denise Walton, and I have been busy preparing reports for a meeting with the Archdiocese of Denver on Oct. 22nd. At that meeting, we will be asking the Archdiocese for final approval to go ahead with our project. Once we have their OK, our Architect, Adam Hermanson, will finalize the design and prepare the actual construction drawings – this work will take him about four months to complete. Once complete, the construction documents will be submitted to the city of Westminster for their approval, a process that will take another four months or so. With approval in hand, we will be able to begin actual construction sometime next summer. As you can tell, there is a great deal to accomplish before we can move the first shovel full of dirt, so please keep this exciting Golden Anniversary project in your prayers.
There is one final thing that is required for the completion of our church renovation- your generosity! As you know, the Pomponio family donated $1.5 million for the church renovation. The actual cost is $2.5 million. We need your help to make up the difference!
This weekend, I am sending you home from Mass with a packet full of information and drawings. I ask you to make as generous a three year pledge to our church renovation as you are able. Our $1 million goal seems high, but remember that we are over 2000 families, and many hands make light work. If each family makes a pledge, we will most certainly make our goal and our new church will soon be reality. In the packet there is a pledge card that I ask you to pray about, fill out and return to the parish by dropping it in the collection basket, bringing it to the parish office or mailing it to us. This is an exciting time in the history of our parish and I thank you in advance for your generosity that makes it possible. Our Church: The Next Fifty Years!
